Hi everyone, I’ve had such a busy week with so much going on. I feel like my feet haven’t touched the floor, so I haven’t had chance to tell you about the fabulous Murder Mystery Evening I performed in last weekend. My lovely friend Suzy has her own theatre company and they often work with Red Herring, a Murder Mystery Entertainment Organisation, to put on dinner and performance nights in beautiful locations. On Friday we were at Whirlowbrook Hall, which is a stunning Edwardian country manor house on the outskirts of Sheffield where I live. There were 8 of us acting in the piece and it’s so much fun to do something like this with like-minded people and good friends. I played ‘Coco Bean’ who came from a Mexican family with a rich history of chocolate making. She had supplied the favours and chocolate fountain at the wedding where the murder had taken place. In fact, she was also the ex-girlfriend of the man whose body had been discovered and with a raging jealousy at his marriage proposal to a new woman, she was very much a top suspect in the crime. Guests had a scrumptious three course meal and then were able to move around the rooms and corridors of the Hall to hear the actor’s monologues and interrogate them as to their whereabouts and potential involvement. I actually found it quite intimidating at times, as some of the audience detectives really cornered you and fired aggressive accusations at the characters. I was beginning to feel like maybe I really had done this murder! But I hadn’t. The hotel manager had and at the end of the night he was revealed by the chief inspector and hilariously arrested as he made a run for the door. The theatre company were served the same lovely meal which was yummy x 100 and I can’t wait to get to do something like this again. Suzy says there’s a Pride and Prejudice themed Murder Mystery in the pipeline next – one of my most favourite books evs! I heart Jane Austen and would be in heaven if I got to wear an elegant empire line dress. A trip to the West Yorkshire Playhouse costume department really is the equivalent of a child in a sweet shop for me 🙂
Glitter filled wishes and sparkly pink lip-gloss kisses xoxo
