New Year’s Resolutions

… And so we approach the end of the year 2014. I hope you all had a wonderful, sparkly Christmas time, and that Santa Claus was good to you, and that most importantly you got to share precious moments within your circle of loved ones. I totes get that tingly warm glow inside when I think how lucky I am to be surrounded by so many amaze people who have been there for me and supported me through a very eventful 2014. As New Year’s Eve draws close, we inevitably reflect on the past twelve months and the path we have trod.

For me, by far the most exciting part has to have been the launch of The Faery Tales series and Book 1, ‘The Faery Tale of Rosie Quartz,’ being published in June. The subsequent talks, parties, workshops, festivals and interviews to publicize it have been an absolute ball and I got to meet so many of you great people through the process.

This year I’ve also visited Asia – a stunning part of the world I’d never been to before. I partied on the beaches of Koh Samui, was blessed by beautiful Buddhist monks in Bangkok, and watched fabuloso Disneyland fireworks in Hong Kong. J’adore!

There have also been some massive challenges too, but all learning curves sent to teach important lessons of some sort – even if you’re not quite sure what they are at the time 🙂 People who are no longer supposed to star in the amaze movie of my life have exited the silver screen for good, and some people who I didn’t even know at the start of the year, now have leading roles 🙂

As I type this blog, cosy and snug at my library desk, I am gazing out onto my street which is thick with crisp white snow, and thinking what a magical way this wintry wonderland weather is to mark the end of another cycle. Back in January my New Year’s resolutions were to buy more sparkly, sequinned things and to watch more old Audrey Hepburn movies. I can safely say I achieved this, but there was little chance of me not doing since those are two of my most fave things to do in the world, ha ha!

I think it’s really fun to make New Year’s resolutions though. There’s something so satisfying about a blank new page and deciding what you want to do with it. Make sure you write your own lists for 2015 and let me know what exciting adventurous things you put on them.

This year I obviously intend to throw all my energy into the launch of Book 2 in The Faery Tales series, ‘The Faery Tale of Amy Thyst,’ and then in addition, this forthcoming 2015 I promise I shall:

  • Only brush my teeth with a Barbie toothbrush
  • Only bath with scented candles and Lush confetti bombs
  • Only work out in fluorescent pink Lycra
  • Only go to sleep after showering in Chanel No. 5
  • Only fall in love if it’s with the frustrating boy who I heart x 100

… And all of this whilst rocking a pair of killer pink stiletto heels. Obvs 🙂
